Marriage is a life-long covenant relationship in the context of the gospel of grace. It requires the willingness and desire of wife and husband to submit to each other and to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the One who binds them into the unity of "one flesh" and empowers them to sustain the relationship.
