Love Letters

This 12-week, interactive Bible study focuses on the letters of John. Strong internal evidence and church tradition point to the apostle John as the writer, somewhere between 90-100 AD. He is the last of the Twelve Apostles still living "an eyewitness to the incredible events surrounding the life, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. He witnessed the amazing growth, struggles and challenges of the young church. He knows the Truth, the Way and the Life, and it is his passion to see the local churches (probably Ephesus) firmly established in the truth "in faith, love and holiness. He is truly a pastor at heart who loves the people committed to his care, and his deep desire is to protect them from the allurements of the world and the deception of false teachers. In that sense these are his "love letters."

In an age marked by a growing uncertainty and religious relativism, both in and outside the church, these "love letters" speak to our contemporary condition and need "the need for assurance and boldness rooted in certainty "a certainty about Christ "who He is and what He has done"” and a certainty about eternal life in Christ. John speaks to these needs with a deep personal conviction.
