As Quest continues to grow at a fast pace, one of our most pressing needs is to continue to invest in community groups as the life and backbone of our church community. From the beginning of Quest, we have always wanted to be a faith community that goes beyond Sundays- a church of small groups, not just a church with small groups. One of the reasons we believe so strongly in the importance of community groups is that we recognize the reality of our busy and fragmented lives. So much in our culture pulls us away from community and if we're not careful, we can easily become spiritual consumers who show up on a Sunday, go through the motions for 90 minutes, and then return home unchanged. Community is the only context in which the church truly becomes the church. Friendships grow, fellowship deepens, life happens, God shows up, and people are empowered to live out their faith. If we know the church isn't just a building, but is primarily a called and sent people, then why don't we make community a priority? I'd like to invite you to prayerfully consider how you might be involved in community groups at Quest. This is a great opportunity to step off the sidelines and shift your paradigm from guest to host! Join me in ensuring that Quest will continue to be a community of people called and sent by God.
