Quest has always affirmed women in ministry, but it has been a while since we have had a sustained discussion on why that is and how we can take the discussion further. During this three week depth class we'll have small group discussion, lectures, and exercises to get us asking questions like: what is the Scriptural basis for Quest's affirmation of women in ministry? we have the new identity of "brothers and sisters" in the church, but can men and women be friends? what does it mean to be women and what it means to be men "in Christ" and how we can construct our ideas of gender from a Biblical perspective rather than solely from the messages our culture bombards us with? The class will be Monday nights from 7-9pm at the Q Cafe on Sep. 22nd, Sep. 29th, and Oct. 6th. To cover the cost of the reader, the class costs $10. Also, be sure to check out the Lauren Winner conference on Faith and Gender which will be on Oct. 10th & 11th |
