Time:
7-9pm, Starts Oct. 16th!
Location:

Wallingford

We will be studying Scripture passages related to the poor and Jesus' interactions with social outcasts and those on the fringes of society. What can we learn about how we should think about and treat the poor (both locally and globally)? What can we learn FROM the poor - what lessons can we take from developing countries on the importance of community and how can we learn to value people over things. We will do more than just talk about how to help the poor. Once a month we'll go from ivory tower discussion to grassroots and hands-on by volunteering at a local non-profit.

Darwin is originally from Houston, Texas, but has been part of Quest ever since he moved to Seattle 2 years ago to work at a large software company. He left the software industry earlier this year to pursue other interests in social entrepreneurship and currently works with Pastor Eugene to start his non-profit fighting global poverty. In his free time, he enjoys photography, swing dancing, karaoke and the occasional lightsaber battle.

Randall was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii, not far from where Barack Obama went to school. He moved to Seattle about two years ago to pursue dreams of rock stardom with his band Harrison. When not rocking out on stage, he works for a tech company out in Bellevue. He loves reading, writing, bicycling, and banging away at the drums. He's a Mac (Darwin is a PC).
