Calling All Questers!

Dear Quest,

It is very rare for our church to send more than one email to our church community, but in light of the current situation with the H1N1 (aka Swine Flu) virus, not just globally, but also in Seattle, the Elder Board and Staff wanted to let you know that for the next several weeks (or until the situation settles down), we've made some precautionary decisions.  Please note that our intent isn't to propagate fear but rather, practice discerning precaution.

 “He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” (Matthew 18:2-5)

Hello Quest,

I took a few moments with calculator and calendar in hand, and attempted to count up the number of folks who came through the doors at Quest from the Call and Response film screening on Friday, April 3, through Palm Sunday and Holy Week, during the Maundy Thursday Seder, Good Friday services, Saturday Children's Easter Program, and Sunday at Whittier Elementary.  In a week and a day, about 1,600 people joined us for services.  To me, this number seems a little nuts.  It was great to have our sanctuary open during Holy Week, and to enjoy that season together, but honestly I was most excited to see that for that week, the church came together in a huge way.

Spring has finally arrived in Seattle and what incredible timing as we gear up for Easter Weekend here at Quest. Though I know we've told you all a time or two (or seven?) about the things we've got planned but since it's crunch time and since we sincerely are that enthused about this weekend, I thought I'd give it one last push.
