at least once a year the youth and children's ministry staff want to stop and say to parents, "hey! you are not alone. how can we encourage you? support you? equip you to be the best parents you can be?!

The "Tiger Mom" has created many concerns about parenting our children for success as adults. How do we raise successful adults? Is any type of parenting better? The first half of class aims to critically answer these questions with an integrated response informed by the Scriptures, theology, and current psychological science. The second half aims to teach parenting skills that encourage children to become productive adults for God's Kingdom.
This class will be led by Quest member, Samuel Song, Professor at Seattle University. Class will be held in Q Cafe Conference Room. Come early, grab a cup of coffee at the bar, and enjoy an awesome morning of learning and dialogue.
Childcare Childcare will be provided at Global Village ($5 per family). If desired, bring a "nut-free" sack lunch for your child.
Baby Dedications & Baptisms will take place at several services on Sunday, February 13. Families bring forward their young children to baptize or dedicate and the church comes alongside the family in prayer and celebration of their commitment to raising their children before the Lord.
It is so important for parents to know that they have a community to surround them in their journey as spiritual mentors to their children. The moment a parent holds a child in their arms for the first time is a moment marked by a sense of deep responsibility and often times burden to be the best parent one can be. It is an overwhelming, daunting, but exciting task. The role of the church is to come alongside a parent and encourage, support and uplift them. A baby dedication or baptism is a time of celebration for parents to offer their child to the Lord, but it is also a significant moment for the church to be reminded of the responsibility we have to parents and the child. The village or community is invited to come alive in a child's life and help raise them up to know, love and serve our Heavenly Father.
The baby dedication/baptism class is provided to prepare parents for the decision they have made to bring their child before the Lord and commit them fully into His hands. This class is offered 3-4 times a year in preparation for Dedication & Baptism Sundays, which are scheduled as requested by parents.
The class meets in the youth room at Q Cafe from 9:30 to 10:30. Babies are welcome to attend with parents, but we encourage toddlers and older to be dropped off at the 9:15 sunday school classes.
The Children's Ministry at Quest seeks not only to serve the children & families of our church on Sundays, but the larger community & neighborhood as well. It is through our church members that we extend and invitation to anyone who would like to participate in our community events and enjoy a safe place to build community. That being said we would like to invite you to:
