Community Groups
Finding a Group
Beyond Sundays, c-groups and focus groups allow us to connect, support, and grow as we learn to do life together. If you plan to visit a group, please be sure to contact the group leader ahead of time. Email addresses are listed for each group.
Group Details
C-Groups are for anyone and they incorporate study, prayer, worship, and usually food. Focus groups are for a specific group in the church, such as college students or moms. Most groups meet weekly, though check the details of the group since there are variations.

Eastside FELLOWSHIP
Howard and Jamie Ro (ghonyi@hotmail.com or 425-922-3534) and Won IL and Lisa Lee
Eastside (Issaquah and Bellevue)
We believe that one of the most effective ways to engage in community is through fellowship. At our group, we’ll enjoy a pot-luck style lunch on Sundays, share stories, and pray together. The emphasis of the group will be on fellowship. This is a brand-new group (first meeting on November 1st) and our goal is to have a welcoming environment to new and existing Questers that are looking for an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy good food, and fellowship on the eastside.
FAMILY, Faith, and Community
Tim & Louise Sneath (louise@sneath.org), Andy & Olinda Mar (andyandolinda@hotmail.com)
Q Cafe
Getting out to a community group on a weekday evening can be difficult, particularly if you have a young family, but it’s great to be surrounded by a group of people to laugh, study, and pray with. This c-group aims to provide a low-key, informal way to start Sunday in fellowship; while it caters for families with children, all are welcome. Informal childcare will be available in the café play area and the children’s ministry is also available during the 9:15 service. We will gather at 9:15 to study a passage of Scripture, share about the ups and downs of life, and to pray; we'll be done in plenty of time before the 11am service!

The Mystery of Hope group will be launching again this year. This group was established out of the desire to support and care for those who are experiencing issues with depression & anxiety. We will be studying the book: The Healing Path (and the Cry of the Soul) and learning ways in which we can support each other in the daily struggles of life, as well as learn how our emotions and the struggles we face give us deeper insight into the heart of God and His healing & transformative nature. If you are interested please feel free to contact DeAnza Spaulding to get more information @ deanza@seattlequest.org.
Monday
JUSTICE & Compassion
DeAnza Spaulding (deanza@seattlequest.org)
Shoreline
We'll be doing a Bible study on the book of Amos. The minor prophet, Amos' message to the Israelites was to remember their call as people of God and to remember that their call required them to remember the disadvantaged and marginalized of society. At this point in history, Israel was becoming more concerned about foreign trade and investments in a market that would yeiled them the highest return: oil & wine. The themes of Amos will fit nicely with our exploration as a C-group on how we are informed in our daily journeys to live lives that are commited to a path of Justice & Compassion. We will ask ourselves questions like: How do we understand God's call on us as his ambassadors? How does His call change the way we conduct ourselves day to day? Who are the marginalized among us? And much more! Most of all, we will look forward to growing deeper in friendship and relationship while challenging and exploring what it means to be transformed by a gospel that not only redeems us but calls us to join in that work!!
Learning to PRAY
Jennifer Roach (jennifer@seattlequest.org)
Ballard
Everyone believes it is important to pray - but lots of us feel lost when we speak to, or try to hear from God. This group will go through the book, Can You Hear Me? Tuning Into the God who Speaks. The focus of our study will be on learning to listen to God through praying the scriptures, keeping a listening journal, doing exercises together, etc.
ROMANS in Queen Anne
Mary Jane and Steve Brain (maryjane.brain@gmail.com)
Queen Anne
The Queen Anne C-group will be moving on to study Romans, following our study last year of Corinthians. We'll be digging deep together to understand the message & background of Paul's letter and to listen to what God is saying to us today.
TURNING Points in the History of Christianity
Jeff Roach (jeff@jnjroach.com)
Fremont/Wallingford
We will be reading through Turning Points: Decisive Moments in the History of Christianity by Mark Noll. In this book Noll has taken the broad topic of the history of Christianity and given it a structure of turning points, focusing on individuals and events at key points in Christian history. The "turning points" put history into perspective and provide opportunity to add a human quality by often focusing on individuals while looking over particular events. Noll adds intimacy by opening each chapter with a hymn of the times and closing with a prayer of the period. When the hymn is familiar, it is particularly poignant. The book looks both at the historical roots and at the different paths the Christian church has taken, enabling readers of different backgrounds to appreciate the context for differences within the churches.
