A 3 week depth class examining how the bridging of faith and race is an integral part of our ongoing discipleship.

Cross

Each year we have a multi-week depth class on the broad topic of Faith & Race.  We'll be meeting for 3 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm, starting Oct. 27th, in the fellowship hall at Quest Church.  Each night will consist of teaching, group discussion, and group exercises.  Here's the broad outline of what we'll be covering this year:

  • Week 1: The Shape of Our Unfaithfulness.  Why are we talking about this?  How can we end up at a dead-end when talking about faith & race?  How does scripture challenge and deepend our conversation?
  • Week 2: Re-Forming Our Identity.  Theology and Race in Spanglish.  How are our ethnicities tied to discipleship?  Where do we resist change?
  • Week 3: Towards Racial Righteousness.  Race, neighborhoods, and Seattle.  Ways of being a multi-ethnic church.

Space is limited so signup today.  Cost is $10 per person to cover the cost of the reader.  Bonus for attending the class is free admission to the Skin Deep conference on Saturday, November 14th with Soong Chan Rah.
