Pre-Marital Counseling

Everyone at Quest who would like one of the pastors to officiate their wedding MUST complete the premarital classes.

MARRIAGE is a calling. It's a sacred invitation. We believe marriage is more than a romance between a man and a woman. It requires an intentional decision to invite Christ into your union and a willingness to equip yourselves with 'tools' that will help you build a healthy and vibrant marriage.


SESSION 1: Introductions, Expectations, and Theology of Family, Balswick and Balswick.

SESSION 2: Reflective listening, Gottman's concepts (house, flooding, four horsemen, etc).

SESSION 3: Family systems - connectedness, flexibility, expectations, and roles.

SESSION 4: Genograms. Family history: past, present,
and future. Family of origin.

SESSION 5: Areas of tension and boundaries in marriage. The creation of the human soul.

SESSION 6: Intentional and holistic marriage. The pillars of holistic and healthy marriage.

Instructors:

Tami Anderson is a local family and marriage therapist. She's help co-lead these depth classes for the past several years. Tami lives in Magnolia with her husband, Jeff, and their two sons.

Pastor Eugene Cho is the lead pastor of Quest Church. He and his wife, Minhee, enjoy life with their three kids.

Pastor DeAnza Spaulding is the compassion & justice pastor at Quest. She has her counseling degree from Mars Hill Seminary. She lives in Ballard with her husband, Frank and their daughter.
