Summer C-Play
Summer C-Play, or "community play," will be starting up July 1st and running through August 30th. However, not all groups run all 8 weeks, so be sure to check the group description for the details. These groups are more informal and open than our normal c-groups that run during the school year. C-Plays are a great chance to meet people that go to a different service than you or to start making connections if you're new to Quest. The goal is simply to have fun and build community doing it.

Groups are open, so its ok to drop in even if you've missed a week or two. Group times, dates, and details are listed on the right so find one that sounds fun and jump in. Questions? Email tony@seattlequest.org
Sunday Softball
Jake & Emilie Buter (jake@qcafe.org), Corey Hage (corey@hagecreative.com), Becky Shampay (bshamps@gmail.com)
Magnolia
Starting on July 11th, you can join us at the Magnolia Playfields, just up the hill from Quest, after the 11am service for some old-school softball. Any skill-level welcome, no equipment necessary (though feel free to bring a glove if you have one). Bring a sandwich or picnic lunch around 1pm and then we'll get started.
JUSTICE & Compassion
DeAnza Spaulding (deanza@seattlequest.org)
Shoreline
The Justice & Compassion C-Group will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month over the summer from 7 to 9 pm. Dinner will be served and we'll engage in light devotions. Newcomers welcome!
Basketball
Tony Nabors (tony@seattlequest.org) & Jake Buter (jake@qcafe.org)
Starting July 6th we'll be playing b-ball at the Queen Anne community center. Game starts at 7pm and goes for a couple of hours. Cost is $4 per night to cover gym fee. Last year we got to see Pastor Eugene bring both the pain and the game -- come on out to see what gets brought this year!
"Love is an Orientation" Book Group
Emily & Clay Jones (emmymc98@aol.com)
Kirkland
Come join us as we read through the book Love is an Orientation: Elevating the Conversation with the Gay Community by Andrew Marin. Rather than falling into stereotypical patterns, we are interested in building bridges from the Church to the gay community by loving them in a purposeful, measurable way. We'll discuss how to leave behind unhelpful ways of relating that hinder relationships and how to build constructive conversations. We'll spend time in prayer asking God to reveal what's in our hearts when it comes to this issue in our own lives, and we'll challenge ourselves to take initiative in mending the broken relationship between the Church and the GLBT community.
We'll be meeting in Kirkland at our house Thursday nights at 7:30, starting July 1st. Please send us an email to let us know you'll be coming and to get directions.
Esperanza - Quest Moms Group
Nancy Rust (nance@nancyrustdoula.com)
Quest Church (childcare provided - lower level toddler room)
This is a group for moms seeking to connect with other women and share in the parenting journey. We hope to know and be known by one another in the group. This summer we'll be focusing on spiritual rhythms. Drop your young one off in the church nursery downstairs and then head next door to the cafe for the group.
Cycling C-Play
Eric Christensen (eric.w.christensen@us.army.mil)
Seattle
The Cycling C-Play will be putting some great fun rides this summer. The emphasis will be on fun rather than fitness so the pace will be on the slow side. If you're interested in coming out to ride, please join the online group, and sign up for email updates to the group so that you can get the details of the rides as the dates get closer.
- Sat, July 24 Ballard Locks Loop (4.5 mostly flat)
- Sat, July 31 Green Lake Loop (8.7 some hills)
- Sat, August 21 Burke Gilman Trail to Mathews Beach (21 mostly flat)
*The ride originally scheduled for Sept. 4 has been canceled for Labor Day.
Email me at eric.w.christensen@us.army.mil if you have any questions.
Outdoor Excursions
Sarah Ryer (iamastick@gmail.com) & Lauren Rimkus (lauren.rimkus@gmail.com)
As the name implies, QUEST OUTDOORS is focusing on People, Nature & Outdoors, and enjoying God's beautiful creation. If you want to join us this summer, then you'll need to join the facebook group so that you can get the details of the different events as the dates draw closer.
We have three events planned for this summer, but we'll likely add more as the year goes on so be sure to join the facebook group.
