Eugene Cho

Eugene is the founding and lead pastor of Quest and the executive director of Q Cafe. He's also the founder of One Day's Wages, a non-profit organization focused on global poverty. Born in South Korea, he immigrated to the U.S. at age six and grew up in San Francisco. He and his wife, Minhee, have been married 14+ years and have three children. He studied psychology and theater at UC Davis and received his theological degree at Princeton Seminary. Barbara Lundquist

Barbara became a member of Quest when Interbay Covenant merged with Quest. She was confirmed by Quest's congregation as an Elder the following year. She is a professor emerita of the University of Washington School of Music. She received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the National Black Music Caucus of MENC in 1981, was Stauffer Professor at San Diego State in 1988, gave The Springfield Music Lecture at Rhodes College in 1993, and has been a visiting professor, lecturer, or clinician in other colleges and universities in the U.S. from 1972 to 2008, including the University of Pittsburgh’s Semester at Sea in 1995, 2000, 2002 and 2005. She has been an educational consultant for USIS, U.S. Office of Education, UNESCO’s Conference on African Musics in African Music Education, and a member of the International Society of Music Education's advisory panel on musics of the world’s cultures. She has publications in the areas of multiethnic music education and musics of the world's cultures in music education.
Bo Lim

Bo, with his wife Sarah and their three children, has been attending Quest since 2006 and has been an elder since 2011. He co-leads the Northside C-Group and occasionally teaches or preaches at Quest in various settings. He grew up in San Francisco, and moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA to study English Literature. Bo then went on to earn his M. Div. and Ph. D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and served as a pastor prior to moving to Seattle. He is a professor of Old Testament at Seattle Pacific University, teaching both undergraduates and seminarians. Bo enjoys the outdoors, biking, reading, and all things brewed in Seattle.
DeAnza Spaulding

DeAnza joined Quest's staff in 2004 after spending a couple of years with our sister organization, Q Cafe. She joins the Quest staff to provide leadership in Compassion & Justice and to help provide pastoral care. DeAnza finished a Masters of Arts in counseling at Mars Hill Graduate School and also runs a private counseling practice. She and her husband, Frank, and their two daughters live in Shoreline. Gail Song Bantum

Gail and her family relocated to the Seattle area in 2009 from Durham, North Carolina. Before joining the Quest staff in 2010, she led worship and conferences in diverse and varied contexts for over fourteen years. The realities of being a second generation Korean-American woman, 15+ years in an interracial marriage and raising multi-ethnic children, have all continued to profoundly contribute to her particular focus of ministry and reflection—the convergence between theology, worship, and identity. Gail received her M.Div. from Duke Divinity School, and her Bachelor of Music from The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. In her free time, she dreams of heaven being filled with Asian, Soul and Latin cuisines, Brazilian music, and vanilla iced coffee. Gail, her husband Brian, and their sons, Caleb, Ezra and Joseph currently reside in Queen Anne. Jin Kim

Jin and his family have been coming to Quest since 2005. Jin is married to his wife, Young, and have two grown children, Moon and Sun. Jin first immigrated to the United States in 1982 as a foreign student in Oklahoma. There, he met his wife and together, they moved to Seattle in 1987. Jin currently works as a software architect for Classmates (social network company).

He enjoys the outdoor activities like biking, water activities (i.e. kayaking). He also loves to eat sushi as long as they are eatable, chewable, digestible, and swallowable.

Ray Bartel

Ray joined Quest in June 2007 when Interbay Covenant Church, where he pastored beginning in November 2000, merged with Quest. Ray married his high school sweetheart, Joy, in 1967. They have a son and daughter and three grandsons. Ray received a degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Washington and a Master of Divinity degree from North Park University. Prior to full-time pastoral ministry, Ray served as a bi-vocational pastor for 15 years while working in engineering at Boeing. Tim Sneath

Tim and his wife, Louise, and their children have been attending Quest for numerous years and Tim has been serving as an elder since 2007. In addition to his leadership asa an elder, Tim leads worship for kids and adults alike at Quest. His day job is as a Microsoft Evangelist (seriously).
