Female Roomate for Living in a Diverse Neighborhood
I am wanting to relocate to the Central/South side of Seattle, and am looking for some roommate(s) and referrals for people who are interested in relocating to these areas as well. Ideally, we will live only as far north as Central District (Seattle University area) and as far south as Columbia City. My main reason for wanting to move into these areas is their diversity - I believe that segregation still exists in our country, in large ways through the neighborhoods we live in. Growing up in the south, the divide between races was unmistakable and heartbreaking. Living in Seattle for five+ years, these traditional racial divides have continued to be evident. According to the Seattle 2000 Census, the Central District is 39% more diverse than Ballard, and Columbia City is 50% more diverse than Ballard. I believe that there is great benefit in living amongst other cultures and working towards reconciliation and neighborhood involvement in these areas. I realize it is slow work, but important nonetheless. Is anyone interested, or know of anyone that might be? Please let me know. I am looking to move July 1.

I've just returned from the mission field and am looking for a job and a place to rent in Seattle. It sounds like you have many of the same things on your heart as I do. Unfortunately my finances are a bit tight right now, but I'm trying to figure out a way to move into the city from a little town south of Olympia. Anyway- I'd love to hear if you've found any other people interested in getting a place. Sorry I can't be more specific right now- I'm trying to figure out how to make this step!
