Faith & Economics | C-Groups
Hello Questers, I want to briefly talk about two things this week:
our next depth class on Faith & Economics and a request to think
about joining a community group if you're not already part of one.
Faith & Economics: On Saturday, Februrary 7th, we'll be having a half-day conference from 9am - 2pm
at Quest Church on the subject of faith and economics. We'll offer two
large group sessions, one on Budgeting and the other on a Philosophy of
Stewardship. In the afternoon we'll have several smaller, interactive,
groups on a whole range of topics: Investing as Stewardship, Buying vs.
Renting vs. Co-Housing,
Steps to Get Out of Debt, and Hands-on help Developing a Budget. Lunch
will be included and the cost is only $4.99 per
person. Childcare will be provided. If you want to attend, now is the
time to register, because the class is just around the corner! Register online here.
Mid-Year C-Group Launch: We
say it often enough it's almost a mantra, but I'll say it again: if you
want Quest to be more like a home than a distant relative you visit,
join a community group. We have a few new c-groups starting this
upcoming week and a number of c-groups that are actively looking for
additional people, so now is a great time to join. If you're
interested in learning more about one of the groups below, click on the
link and then email the leader for details on the location.
FOLLOWING Through on Your Spiritual Goals
is a new group and will be meeting on Mon. nights in the Q Cafe. If
you've been feeling stuck in your spiritual journey, this is the group
for you.
NEWCOMERS Group
is a new group that runs for 5 weeks and is for anyone new to the
church who is interested in learning more about Quest and meeting other
newcomers.
KNOWLEDGE of the Holy is reading through Tozer's book, of the same name, on Tuesdays in Greenlake.
CORINTHIANS in Queen Anne meets on Mondays and is working their way through Paul's 1st letter to the Corinthians.
WOMEN: Life and Faith is a group of women meeting on Sundays who are reading through Anne Lammote's book, Traveling Mercies.
SUPPORT Group for the Economically Displaced is still being formed, but it's vision is to offer practical and spiritual support for those who have lost their jobs.
If you have questions about any of the C-groups or if you'd like to know more about the Faith & Economics depth class, feel free to contact me at jason@seattlequest.org.
