Worship & Prayer Sunday | May 27 - June 2, 2009

worship&prayer

Hello Quest!

This upcoming Sunday, May 31st we'll be doing service a little differently at Quest. We'll be foregoing the usual sermon and spending that time in worship, prayer and reflection. Though teaching and preaching are certainly integral in the development of our faith (and we here at Quest are quite blessed to have a team of gifted teachers!), we also acknowledge the need to recognize the mystical, unexplainable, intangible aspect of our faith. In other words, we acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit and the desire for a deeper spiritual engagement within each of us. It also just so happens that this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, a significant day in our church calendar. It's a "birthday" of sorts that celebrates the church's first encounter with the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. And while we can't promise tongues of fire (though I suppose I can't rule it out? :) ), we can promise some extra singing, extra prayer, and extra space (both literally and figuratively) to allow the spirit in you to connect with the Spirit of God. We hope that you'll join us!
